Be at peace...

May 06, 20232 min read

Be at peace in your life.

When you are waiting for something big to happen, that waiting can seem like you're standing still, doing nothing, being unproductive. But the universe has bigger plans for you.

In my journaling lesson today, I was reflecting on how to keep my momentum going, what things I needed to check off the list. All of this is a good habit to have, creating consistency and routine, but a few things require someone else to take action and in those moments, I have to wait.

Sometimes just sitting around waiting for things to happen is the hardest part of change. You've been eating healthy all week, you've been walking every day for a month, you've been studying the art of healing, you've been writing a manuscript....

We all know, in our minds, that we have to wait for things to happen, but in our hearts we become impatient for action. The extra 20 pounds doesn't release overnight. You can't run a marathon. No one is knocking on your door to be healed. Your manuscript doesn't get published right away.

We have to wait for other pieces of the puzzle to be put into place. Most of the time, we don't have that piece, someone else does.

Today I was taught to be at peace, to be ok with waiting for those things to happen. And in that waiting space, things are still happening. Action is still taking place and to become aware of it, and embrace waiting, you need to take a step back.

Go in peace.

How many times have you heard that? It's mostly a saying from church when the services are over. "Go in peace" with the intention of being peaceful in your personal life and in what happens around you. As I thought about this, my acronym popped into my head. P-present, to be present in the now. E-empowered, to be empowered to live intentionally, do good, and serve others. A-aware, to be aware of what's happening in your life and what choices you are making. C-confident, to be sure of yourself and others. E-enlightened, to go about your day filled with certainty of who you are and what your purpose is.

Today, I invite you to go in peace. Spend your day present in the moments, empowered, aware of the blessings around you, confident that you are exactly who you need to be, and enlightened that your purpose will be known when the time is right.
