Belief

Today is the first day of school! I don’t know who was more excited, me or the kids. Luckily, both my kids love school. I hope that lasts throughout their school years. They were both ready to head out this morning without any hesitation. They are both being taught to have strong belief in themselves, in others, and in the universe. They believed they were going to have a great school year, make lots of friends, connect with old friends, and just have fun. They were already halfway to that belief before we even walked out the door.

Belief, for children, is a lot easier than it is for adults. I spent my evening yesterday on a Strengths community call where the participants learned to use their strengths to turn their fear and comparison struggles into something powerful that strengthened their belief in themselves. It was so amazing to watch the body language of people as they began to feel the shift in their fears or pull away the layers of comparison. Eddie Villa calls it “the Strengths smile.” It’s a physical reaction to believing in yourself. Now, those people are halfway up their hill, smiling and feeling the power and the energy to move them forward.

One of my Facebook groups posted a few questions about our upcoming convention and those questions tied right into this quote today. After I answered them for myself, I found out I am more than halfway to my goals. I actually feel like I’m getting closer and closer to the top. I’ll never make it all the way and I don’t want to. I want to constantly be pushing farther and farther up those stairs. So being halfway or 3/4 of the way is pretty damn good.

How far up the stairs have you gone? Are you still on the landing? What belief do you want? What do you want to receive? Are you ready to start climbing?

Take a few minutes today and answer these questions. Share your answer with me if you’d like. I’d love to see where you are going.
