There was a time in my teens when I thought the only way for me to be accepted was to be “cool” or “popular”. So many years later I have realized that what I really needed to be was just me.
In the past 5 or so years I have been working on just being me and within the last 7 months, I have practiced that every single day.
I am so grateful for my unique qualities. They are the polar opposite of what I thought needed to be or was expected to be. Being authentically me 100% of the time has drawn the best of friends into my circle, created a rock solid marriage, and has taught me that I am enough.
I don’t need to be popular. I don’t need to be “cool”. I just need to be that unique flower in the field.
